Combine E-Calls and Hand Calls 11/28/2011

Most people don't have a ecaller that can play multiple sounds from multiple positions.  There are callers out there that can do this, but most don't.  Having different sounds going at the same time can really change the game in a pressured area.  Most hunters using an ecall will just walk out into a field, drop their caller and hit play.  They may get a coyote doing that, but they will also educate ten more in the process.  We all know predators (coyotes especially) learn very quick.  Its hard to fool them more than once.  If you want to fool them, do something your neighboring hunters don't do.  Be slow, quiet and scent free getting to your set.  Park your truck a long ways away and take the extra time walking in.  It all makes a big difference.  But beyond that, don't call like everyone else does.  Mix it up and mix in some hand calling.  While you got that rabbit squealing full bore, throw in some barks or yips in with the rabbit.  Not only will a coyote in the area think their is a rabbit dying, they will think that it is dying because another outsider coyote is intruding on their land.  Coyotes hate trespassers, especially ones stealing their food.  Some goes for using coyote vocals on your caller.  Mix in some vocals from your hand call during the sequence.  With the sounds sounding different and coming from different locations, it will make the impression of multiple intruders and may bring in a group of coyotes instead of just that single.  The list goes on.  So don't forget about those calls that are hanging around your neck bouncing off your remote.  Use them in your set and change things up.

Other Hunting Related Uses For These Sounds 10/31/2011

When I first started looking for these sounds online, it really wasn’t to load onto my e-caller.  I would listen to them over and over again and practice making those sounds on my hand calls.  I would use them for all my hunting from deer, waterfowl, upland and of course predators.  Usually the name of the sound file can tell you what the sound is supposed to be.  So if you listed to enough different ones, you can generally tell what is going to sound the best or what you can mimic the best.  Even if you still use a e-caller all the time, it really helps to work in hand calling during your hunting stand while the electronic caller is going.  Will go into that more in the future.

Why this list is here. 05/10/2011

As I stated on the home page, I started collecting these sound files years ago to be used for hunting.  I started getting so many files that I needed to organize them all so I could find what I wanted.  When reading all the hunting forums I notices a lot of people were looking for free sounds to download and also be easy to find.  So I decided to host all the files I downloaded (for free) online on this site that I already had.  Now it has exploded to much more than a list for hunters.  We have many people using this library for a lot more than just hunting sounds.  Which is something I am very excited about.  Its here, its free, so anyone can use it.  I have never received a dime for hosting these files and have turned down MANY request from people wanting to pay me to send them a disk with all these files on it.  These are not my files, I did not create them so therefore I will not sell them.  I keep this site alive out of my own pocket for the simple fact that I am glad to see it being used.

Thank You
